Accessories Winter 2008

Accessories are the finishing touch of your outfit. Without accessorizing our outfits would SO boring! For the coming winter a lot of nice new accessories were spotted at the international fashion shows. Something that couldn’t be missed were all the high waist belts, they were seen at almost all fashion shows from Chanel to Topshop. Most belts were worn with wide pants and a blouse or vest above it. Also hats are hip again! If you still have a woolen hat from a few years ago, you can totally wear it again, that means more money for something new!

If you have always loved lace but you were afraid it was way too trashy or unbelievably corny, well don’t worry! LACE IS BACK. And it’s not just lace for clothing. But also shoes (Roberto Cavalli and Sergio Rossi), bags(Prada), tights (Chanel) and if you’re in a really crazy mood lace masks (Derek Lam). About shoes, the (T)strap sandals are still hot, they survived last spring, so thankfully they’re still here. Especially when you wear the shoe in a edgy color with tights and a dress or skirt it looks absolutely fabulous.

And last but not least, the jewelry. Less is more is the motto for all the jewelry designers this season. In the Chanel winter ’08 collection all you see are brooches, mostly with pearls and black crystals. At Kenzo’s shows the models were wearing necklaces reaching the collarbone. You can finish your outfit with nice simple bracelets, one small (diamond) strap will do the trick. So go accessorize!!
